Briefly, the Core Curriculum and the 3 HEO Levels.
(Certification on the Excavator, Bulldozer, and Backhoe Loader).
Preventative maintenance, safety training, hand tools, power tools, soils, employability skills, I.D of equipment, operating techniques, basic & civil blueprints, basic rigging, grade interpretation, and construction math.

All HCETA course work and field training are National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standardized craft training programs.
Standardization characteristics:
1. Task oriented.
2. Competency - based.
3. Performance tested.
4. Developed by a technical review committee of SME's.
5. Meets national performance standards.
6. Published in a modularized, standardized format.
7. Taught by instructors certified in the standardized training process.
The Wheels of Learning curriculum or HEO levels I II III are used in conjunction with the skills of our NCCER Certified Craft Instructors in the training process of excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and includes certification on all three pieces of equipment.

Soil compositions play a big role in this trade.

Excellent Alabama soil to utilize for training.
The course is a comprehensive curriculum including the fundamental and advanced subject matter in both theoretical (classroom) and practical (field training) aspects of grade knowledge, excavation, safety, maintenance, and heavy equipment operation.
The complete curriculum consists of 120 hours of classroom instruction and 120 hours of field training.
All three levels of the heavy equipment operations program are included in your four week certification.
